Liverpool was finally defeated in the season by Reading who scored 3 fantastic goals against Liverpool’s 1 goal.

Stephen Hunt’s penalty put Reading in front after Jamie Carragher fouled Brynjar Gunnarsson, but Steven Gerrard soon equalised with a skilled goal. At half time the score read 1 – 1. Kevin Doyle’s glancing header at 58 minutes put Reading ahead of Liverpool by 1 goal. James Harper scored the 3rd goal sealing their victory over Liverpool.

Reading boss Steve Coppell had asked the home fans to increase the noise levels and his players certainly responded gave the supporters something to make noise and shout about with a well done team performance.
